Our service
With the Open Journal Systems (OJS) software, the University of Bonn provides you with a system that maps the entire publication process for scientific journals—from submission and peer review to publication.
We offer:
- Advice on journal creation or journal migration
- Provision of technical infrastructure
- Support with publication
- Application for an ISSN (International Standard Serial Number)
- Assignment of DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and URN (Uniform Resource Name)

Requirements
- At least one editor must be a member or affiliate of the University of Bonn.
- Specified URL: [title of the journal].uni-bonn.de
- If desired, editors can register their own domain. They will receive the necessary information from the ULB so that the journal can be accessed under their own domain.
- Format templates must be agreed upon with the ULB.

Open access journals
The following section presents the scholarly OA journals of the University of Bonn supported by the University and State Library Bonn (ULB Bonn). These journals publish peer-reviewed research freely accessible in the spirit of Diamond Open Access.
ERDKUNDE – Journal of Human and Physical Geographies is an international, peer-reviewed OA journal covering all fields of geography. Independent of commercial publishers and free of charge for authors, it publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed articles with rapid online publication.
Notas de Antropología de las Américas (NAA) is the OA journal of the Department of Anthropology of the Americas at the University of Bonn. It promotes the exchange of current research on the anthropology, archaeology, and history of Latin America.
